Is your furnace ready to handle winter?

We’ve all been there…things break at the most inconvenient time.  Take a proactive approach to care for your furnace instead of waiting until it is in need of a major repair.  Early fall is the perfect time to schedule your tune-up to keep your system in top working condition for the winter months ahead.

During the furnace tune-up, some of the services include:

  • Clean furnace
  • Check filter and change if needed
  • Check all flue pipes and vents for rust, water leaks, and loose connections
  • Service water heater as an add-on
  • WIFI thermostat inspection and configurationFall Furnace Tune Up card
  • Check operation of the heat pump
  • Check humidifier and service the pad if needed
  • If your system has belt driven fans, check the belt to make sure it’s not cracked or loose
  • Check drain lines to make sure they are clear and draining properly
  • Inspect the heat exchanger for cracks and deterioration
  • Remove and clean the burners if necessary
  • Check and adjust the unit’s fan switch
  • Clean and adjust as necessary the pilot light and pilot assembly
  • Inspect and make sure all safety controls are working properly
  • Check gas line for leaks from the furnace shut off valve to the burners
  • Lubricate motors and bearings and inspect and adjust belts and pulleys
  • Check and record voltage and amp ratings on the blower motor, compressor and condenser fan motors
  • Check air purifier bulb and change if needed (optional add-on)

As we think about preparing for the future, we also must reflect on the past.

This year marks the 21st anniversary of the World Trade Center attacks in New York City.  This act of terror resulted in almost 3,000 American lives lost and is regarded as the largest loss of life by a foreign attack on American soil.  Following the attacks, the country seemed to be bonded by tragedy as news broke across the nation.  We can honor those who lost their lives that fateful day by spreading kindness to others.  In addition, a huge thank you to all who serve in the military to protect our homeland and way of life.
