A Special Thank You This Labor Day

usa-pattern-labor-day-background_425For many Labor Day marks the end of summer.  We often celebrate it with picnics, family gatherings and going to community events.  In the midst of the COVID 19 pandemic most of these activities are not available to us.

Along with marking the end of summer, Labor Day is also a day we recognize the contributions and achievements of the American worker.  As a nation we have done this since 1894 when President Grover Cleveland designated the first Monday in September the official holiday to celebrate the “dignity of the American worker”.

Thanking a Special Group of Workers
During these exceptionally challenging times we are forever grateful to those in our community who are reaching out to help others.Covid 19 Thank You

  • Our healthcare providers, our doctors and nurses, who continue to be an inspiration to all of us for their selflessness, courage and dedication to helping those who are sick.
  • Those who are working tirelessly to develop a vaccine to defeat this deadly virus.
  • Our first responders, police and firefighters who protect us even though they are often entering situations where the potential exposure to the virus is high.
  • Entrepreneurs, who are working endless hours to make low cost ventilators, produce hand sanitizer, and create masks in quantities never done before.
  • Volunteers who collect, package and deliver needed food and supplies to the elderly and those needing extra help at this time.

A Community That Works Together
In the spirit of Labor Day it is important to recognize these efforts by those in our own community who are helping us fight and defeat COVID-19.  By working together, supporting our neighbors, and doing our part to prevent the spread of this disease, we will get through these difficult times together.
